The Daisy now Frankie Bird

The Daisy Bar + Tacos in Troy, open since fall 2019, has closed. The final day was Saturday. The owners, Kelly and Joe Proctor, will debut a new concept in the space on Jan. 25, according to Kelly Proctors. The building, on the corner of Fourth and Liberty streets, for historical reasons technically has an address of 6 Franklin Place. The new restaurant will be called Frankie Bird and will focus its small menu on fried chicken, as sandwiches, tenders and a salad, including Beyond-brand meatless chicken, and sides, with a full beverage menu of  cocktails, beer and wine. Citing a taco efflorescence in Troy, including La Capital and Tatu, both coincidentally on Fourth Street, Kelly Proctor said, "We thought we'd be a better asset to the city if we changed the concept." The Daisy in Cohoes remains open. — Steve Barnes, Times Union
